This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Zhizao Paper Technology Co., Ltd. ("Zhizao", "we", "us") collects when you visit our website, why we collect it, and what choices you have. It is written to meet the requirements of the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, where applicable, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).

1. Who we are

Zhizao Paper Technology Co., Ltd. (trading as Zhizao Pet) is a manufacturer of corrugated cardboard pet products, established in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China. For the purposes of the GDPR we are the data controller for the information described below.

  • Registered address: 3rd Floor, Building B, No. 120 Jinhe Road, Jinhe Community, Zhangmutou Town, Dongguan City, Guangdong Province, China
  • Email: info@zhizaopet.com

2. Information we collect

Because this is a business-to-business site, the information we hold is almost entirely information you give us voluntarily.

Information you provide

  • Inquiry and quote requests: name, work email, phone or WhatsApp number, company name, job title, company address, country or target market, estimated order quantity, and the content of your message.
  • Catalog and sample requests: the same details, plus a delivery address where a physical sample is requested.
  • Newsletter subscription: email address only.
  • Correspondence: records of emails and messages exchanged with our sales and engineering teams.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring page, pages viewed and time spent.
  • Usage data: which product pages and downloads you interact with, used to understand which ranges interest buyers.

We do not collect payment card details through this website, and we do not knowingly collect special category data (such as health or biometric information) or government identification numbers.

3. How we collect it

  • Directly from you when you fill in a form, send us an email, or contact us by phone or messaging app.
  • Automatically through cookies and server logs when you browse the site (see section 5).
  • From third parties only where you have made your business contact details publicly available (for example on your company website or a trade platform) and the contact is relevant to a B2B enquiry.

4. How we use your information & legal basis

Purpose Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6)
Responding to inquiries, preparing quotes and sending samples Performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract
Managing an existing customer relationship and order Performance of a contract
Sending the newsletter you subscribed to Consent — withdrawable at any time
Improving the site, understanding which products buyers view Legitimate interests (running and improving our business)
Keeping business records and complying with tax or export rules Legal obligation
Establishing, exercising or defending legal claims Legitimate interests

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

We use a minimal set of cookies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies — required for the site to function (for example, remembering that you dismissed a notice or keeping a form partially filled). These cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies — help us understand which pages and products are viewed so we can improve the site. These are only set where you have given consent, or are configured in a privacy-preserving way.

You can control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some parts of the site may not work. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time by clearing cookies in your browser.

6. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers who act on our instructions — website hosting, email delivery, and analytics providers.
  • Freight and courier partners where a physical sample or document needs to be delivered to you.
  • Professional advisers (accountants, auditors, legal counsel) where necessary.
  • Authorities where we are legally required to disclose, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights.

Every processor we use is bound by a written contract requiring them to protect your data and to act only on our instructions.

7. International transfers

We are based in China, so information you send us will be transferred to and processed in China. Where the GDPR applies and a transfer leaves the EEA or UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards — typically the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission (or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum), together with supplementary technical measures such as encryption in transit.

You may request a copy of the relevant safeguards by emailing us.

8. How long we keep it

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected. In practice that means we retain it while we are in contact with you or while you remain a customer, and for a reasonable period afterwards to meet legal, accounting and record-keeping obligations.

Information is retained for the shortest period consistent with those purposes. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or irreversibly anonymise it so that it can no longer be linked to you. Where a retention period is set by applicable law or by a specific contractual commitment, that period governs.

If you would like your information removed sooner, you can ask us at any time — see section 9.

9. Your rights

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the following rights under the GDPR. They are free to exercise, and we will respond within one month.

  • Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Rectification — have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected.
  • Erasure — ask us to delete your information where we have no overriding reason to keep it.
  • Restriction — ask us to pause processing while a dispute is resolved.
  • Portability — receive your information in a structured, machine-readable format, or have it sent to another controller.
  • Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests, and object at any time to direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent — where we rely on consent (for example the newsletter), withdraw it at any time.
  • Complain — lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. In the UK this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

To exercise any of these rights, email info@zhizaopet.com with enough detail for us to identify your record.

10. California residents

If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to opt out of any sale or sharing, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. To make a request, email info@zhizaopet.com.

11. Children's privacy

This site is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information: encryption in transit (HTTPS), restricted access on a need-to-know basis, and regular review of who has access to enquiry and customer records. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Third-party links

Our site links to third-party services such as Google Maps and video platforms. Those services have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their practices. Please review them before submitting any information.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our business or in the law. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is material, we will take additional steps to bring it to your attention, such as a notice on the site.
